I don't have any particular ideas in mind as to who the speaker should be, but I have some ideas as to characteristics he or she should have: Global perspective – With the word 'globalization' being such a contentious term these days, it would be very interesting to hear from someone who could shed a unique, well-articulated perspective on this subject.
I read with interest the editorial in the MSJ of 11/5. I, too, reacted with concern and dismay upon hearing news of the clash between police and firefighters at the World Trade Center site. Again, I would like to offer a New Yorker's perspective on this event.
