Despite the dark skies and rainy weather, six champions participated in a Wings Eating Contest on Saturday, the first event in the week-long Food Fight competition to raise food, money, and awareness for hunger issues in the United States. Food Fight is an annual food drive started in 1997 by the University of Michigan through the SGA and Global Citizenship Council.
On Friday, November 14th, the Wolverine Wine Club hosted 90 guests at the Ann Arbor Art Center downtown. The event featured a variety of sushi from Makkara (3014 Packard Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48108), three types of sake, one white varietal blend, one Sauvignon Blanc and one Pinot Noir.
The Bhangra dance group struck their final pose, the last drum beat hit, the audience erupted yet again, and this year's University of Michigan Indian American Student Association's cultural show came to a close. The IASA show packed Hill Auditorium last Friday night to capacity with family, friends, and members of the community, and the crowd was just as enthusiastic as the dancers.
