Students highlighted the cross-disciplinary nature of the course as another positive. MBA2 and member of the LapWrap team Chris Martiniak said, "I'm a strong advocate for cross-functional classes like this. It further reinforces the team approach and action-based learning that Ross differentiates itself on. Furthermore, Michigan has another competitive advantage over other schools - top graduate programs across the board. In an increasingly cross-disciplinary and convergent business world, we need to leverage this advantage to make the Ross MBA the most relevant MBA out there. It's also a great way to meet interesting new people and expand your network. We are in business school after all."

As one might expect when combining new product development with MBA students, some of the teams are also considering if they should look for financing to start a business. One of the teams has even been contacted by investors regarding commercializing their product, according to Paula Baker, Marketing and Alumni Manager at the Tauber Manufacturing Institute (TMI).

The TMI worked with faculty members to design the course to contribute to improving manufacturing education and in support of the RSB's focus on action-based learning. While the course was developed for TMI students, any RSB student can enroll if there is room.
