This week, Spytek had to leave the tense environment of the school several times, stressed by watching BBAs and MBA1s running around in their monkey suits, getting internship offers and rejections. Spytek wonders how recruiters are receiving Spytek's resume, whose main highlight is "Gossip Reporter for the Monroe Street Journal". Okay, now on to the weekend's events.

It was a full house this Friday night at Everyday Wines as 200 graduate school students came to the first Wine Club event of 2007. The guests enjoyed organic wines as the event was co-sponsored by Net Impact. Also on Friday night, there were a lot of MBAs at Live at PJ's, some very organically drunk from the Wine Club event. This time they had to fight to get some space because there were law school students crawling all over the place. Apparently, PJ's was the venue for the post party of the law school's male pageant, Mr. Wolverine.

On Saturday night, the 5th Annual Blue Door Auction was held at the Ann Arbor Art Center. Over 35 pieces donated by business school students were up for auction, and the space was packed with the usual suspects holding the usual glass of wine. Spytek appreciates the giving nature of the event and learned the party was a success raising a good amount of money. After the auction, Spytek learned of some MBA2s hanging out across the street at the Alley Bar, where two people were kicked out at the end of the night for being too generous with their words.

Back to the MBA1 world, MAP teams will be released this Wednesday. Anticipation is in the air as students anxiously wait to see, not their project assignment but their team. The team will be the group of people, which whom they'll spend seven weeks working together and possibly traveling to foreign countries all around the world. Oh, the possibilities for dissappointment and potential for disaster! Spytek is convinced that the MAP staff matches up teams using a method not unlike "match.com", but instead of matching attributes and interests. It should be interesting to hear how things shake out.

In other subjects, the UMBSA Winter Formal is in less than a week. Spytek is ready to dust off the prom outfit and see if it still fits. Spytek has definitely put on some holiday (and beer) weight and is trying to stick by the 'be healthier' new years resolution. Spytek is not the only one who has put on a bit of weight though. Spytek wishes to remind the ladies to please think twice before wearing what is commonly referred to as 'the uniform'. You know what it is… leggings and Ugg boots. Not everyone can pull it off, that's for sure! But Spytek digresses… the formal is coming up and Spytek is ready to shake that groove thang and scope out dirt for next week's Goss.

Finally, Spytek wants to congratulate Stephanie Hartshorn, who got engaged during the holiday break.
