Rossip Girl: Weekly Buzz
Rossip Girl
Issue date: 12/14/09 Section: Opinions
Rossip Girl here, your one and only source into the fascinating lives of Ross MBA's. This week we wound down our last full week of classes before heading off to the amazingness that is Winter Break - what better time for another round of Rossip - no names, no pictures, just the buzz around Ross.
This week @ 701 Tappan: Alarming -6 degree wind-chill kept some Rossers from hitting Skeeps on Thursday, but was just the motivation that some needed to bundle up and hit the party scene; Congrats to the Net Impact board for putting on a stellar holiday party @ PJ's this week - RG loves seeing Rossers' money going to a good cause in addition to observing Santa getting down with his bad self!; Props to the RnR B-School band and our two guest DJ's for bringing down the house - the holiday tunes were especially appreciated by all in attendance; UM hockey beat Notre Dame with plenty of Rossers in attendance; Follies castings - check!; We all learned a little bit more about the environment (and got free goodies!) at the Planet Blue open house in the WG.
Rumor has it…Edward 40-hands is back - MBA2's celebrated the holidays with friends in the classiest way possible; Monday is the new Thursday for going out; MBA1 boys should be careful with their reputations; a first year CTools battle got a little out of hand; Professor Ahn's at it again with his MBA1 karaoke nights; Milestone birthdays always end up at Rick's; Ross party scene regulars noticeably absent this week; Rossers (and their party buses) are embracing all that Detroit has to offer this year.
WG Buzz: The Marketplace sale in the WG was a wild success - emphasis on "wild" - expect to see 900 of your closest friends wearing their Ross fleeces this winter; New Year's plans are in the making - where will you be? RG is heading south to ring in 2010 but other Rossers are staying close to A2 to celebrate the New Year at classy local establishments; Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas" is currently the biggest crowd pleaser at Rick's; Rossers have transitioned into hockey season and had a great turnout for the Friday game vs. Notre Dame - Go Blue!; Follies casting went better than ever this year and RG can't wait to see the show in February; Rossers reminding each other to bring back their ski equipment and apparel for the annual January pilgrimage to Boyne!
Next week RG's looking forward to the last day of classes, farewell parties for friends studying abroad and the UM Art Museum Grad School Night. Rossers are up to exciting things over break - a South American tour, skiing in Breckenridge and warming up in Miami are only a few of the hot tickets this year.
Happy holidays to all - and catch you in 2010 where our social calendars are quickly filling up!
Until then, Rossip Girl
